Which CCTV system is best for you?

Turn you Standard TV into a security Surveillance System
Closed Circuit is simple, effective and easy to install. As well as an excellent security device, it can also be used as a great way of simply vetting people who come to your door. And CCTV systems are not as expensive as you may think, starting from as little as £35.

Did You Know?
'67% of burglars said CCTV deters them from considering breaking and entering a home'.

CCTV systems are becoming increasingly popular for home security as they allow you to:
• See your visitors 'before you open the door'
• Monitor your property
• Recording at Night
• Record Nuisance Neighbours
• Keep an eye on your children

Which system is right for you?
Systems start with just one camera, which can give a colour or black & white (at night) picture. All Cameras from Response have a built in PIR (Passive Infra-Red) movement detection facility. PIR (movement activated) cameras can be set to automatically change the channel on your TV to show the camera picture. The PIR movement sensor detects warm moving objects up to a 50 metre range. (Each camera varies)

Digital Video Image Recorder
This facility can be added as an option and, once programmed, can automatically start recording the camera picture on your VCR or DVD recorder when movement is detected by the PIR sensor on the camera. With a 2Gb capacity, the DVR can store up to 12 hours of recorded footage or up to 20000 photos.

The DVR also has a time & date stamp, which adds a digital display of the time and date activation took place.

Multi-Camera Systems
As these systems can have up to 5 cameras, they are perfect for monitoring the front and back of your property, for larger properties or small commercial premises. All the cameras simply plug into a TV/DVR unit or 5 channel Switcher Unit and this allows you to control which picture you see on your TV. For example, you can have the picture set to just one camera (say your front door) or you can set the switching unit to automatically scan through each Wireless camera in turn at selectable intervals. Either way, if one of the cameras PIRs detects movement, the picture will jump to the appropriate camera. The DVR allows you to record one channel at a time on the selected camera.

How easy is it to install a CCTV system in the home?
Modern home surveillance cameras are easily installed with the new and simple 'plug and play format', - ideal for the DIY installer.
The cameras are weatherproof and designed for indoor or outdoor use, they work well at night time too, but black and white cameras will see clearer (than colour) in low light, however if you need good visibility at night, simply make sure there is a nearby light. For example, a welcome light or nearby street light.
The cameras have up to a 60 degree angle of vision and the integral PIR will detect movement up to 9 metres (30ft). It is best to place the cameras high up and out of reach. The cameras can tilt and turn to get the best picture.

For single camera installations
Each wired camera comes with 10 meters of cable, extension cables are available in 10 and 20 metre lengths to increase the distance.
After mounting the camera and passing the cable through the wall, connect up the cable and run it back to the TV or DVR, and also plug into the mains using the low voltage adaptor supplied.
Installation is quick and easy. Each camera can be used to expand an existing Response CCTV system or be plugged directly into your existing Television or Monitor.

For 2 or more cameras
Each camera can be mounted around your home to cover all aspects including front door, driveways, parked cars, side paths, rear garden, patio etc

A 2 channel DVR will allow up to 2 cameras to be connected to one TV.

The DVR (Digital Video Recorder) has a motion trigger recording with a sensitivity and area setting to automatically record the camera of your choice when activated. You can select which camera you prefer the unit to record when triggered. As the unit can handle up to a 2Gb SD memory card (supplied) SD cards are not capable of writing two files at the same time.

By adding the 7” Colour TFT LCD Monitor it will allow you to add 2 Wired Cameras, and up to 3 Wireless cameras, using the integrated Wireless Receiver. The monitor can be attached to a DVR to record the selected camera. The monitor can also be hung upside down under a surface, as the screen has a mirror effect to show the selected camera.
